Whatever was left of this ghost sign was preserved when this building from 1912 was restored a few years ago, but with only two words remaining it isn't possible to know for sure what was promoted there. Still, if I were to make a guess, I'd say this was the office of a maritime company that operated steamboats or of a shipping company. This may be a long shot but in the 1920s the
Asociación de maquinistas navales (Marine Engineers' Association) had its headquarters in this building. Coincidence?
